Instructions:

The board may impose fines, confiscate fishing cards or exclude members from the club for failure to abide by these instructions. Membership cards and day, week or year cards entitle the holder to fish on the waters shown on the overview map included in this information. The cards are personal and must always be carried when fishing. The card and identification must be shown upon request. You must respect the boundaries shown on the maps of fishing waters, and signs erected at watercourses and lakes.

Children under 15 years of age are permitted to fish without a fishing card in Silkeborg Fiskeriforening waters, except Funder Å and Skygge Å, which require membership and a fishing card.

You must respect the property and private life of property owners, including any ‘no entry’ (adgang forbudt) or other signs. You must not damage traps, nets, fences, grass or crops of any kind. You must not leave any rubbish behind, and all cardholders are encouraged to remove any rubbish they find for the sake of the environment. Dogs are not permitted in the club’s leased areas, except where signs show public access is permitted for dogs.

Members and holders of day, week, and year cards are prohibited from engaging in commercial or hobby fishing. Members and holders of day, week, and year cards are only permitted to engage in sports fishing, which refers to: rod fishing,
kolpning’, dipping , spinning, trolling, fishing using a crayfish net, and other normally recognised fishing activities, with or without a rod. All other types of fishing using floats, ring nets, fixed lines, or the like, are strictly prohibited. Fishing is only permitted using a maximum of three rods, and only one rod if live bait is being used. Only one line is permitted per rod, and a maximum of three hooks per line. When trolling, a limit of two rods per person and four rods per boat applies Deep trolling is prohibited between 1 April and 31 May. You must not leave any fishing gear unattended while fishing. Pre-feeding is prohibtied in Silkeborg Fiskeriforening waters. Any person fishing in Silkeborg Fiskeriforening waters must immediately follow and abide by directions given by a fishing inspector, and show identification, membership card, fishing card and fishing licence on request. Any member of Silkeborg Fiskeriforening is entitled to be shown a valid card entitling the holder to fish in club waters, after showing their own membership card. The Silkeborg Fiskeriforening board will decide what constitutes sports fishing in cases where there is any doubt.

All fishing from the Hjejleselskab and Motorbådsklub bridges is prohibited, and fishing is not permitted within 50 metres of legally placed commercial fishing equipment, fish traps and rapids. Special regulations apply to the rapids at Silkeborg Papirfabrik, and these are displayed on signs in the area.

The use of any kind of boat in Slåensø is strictly prohibited.

Motorboats (including electric-motor-powered boats) are prohibited in Ellesø, Thorsø, Aunsøerne, Uglsø, Almindsø, Ørnsø, Tranevig, Pøtsø, Kalgårdsvig, Lillesø (Sortsø) and Lyngsø.

Motor vehicle access and parking on Trækstien and in the meadows alongside Gudenåen is strictly prohibited. Fishing from a boat in Gudenåen is also prohibited between Ringvejsbroen (the ring road bridge) in Silkeborg and Kongensbro.

Regulations for boating in the Gudenå system must be observed.

The lighting of fires is strictly prohibited alongside club waters, except in the fireplaces set up by the Danish Forest and Nature Agency. Anyone who lights a fire outside these approved fireplaces will immediately have their fishing card confiscated, and will be ordered to leave the area, excluded from the club, and reported to the police.

Skygge Å
All motor vehicles are strictly prohibited from driving on the road, from the boom below “Jacob Jensens gård” and down to Skygge Å. The car park must be used.

Special regulations for the waters in the vicinity of Ry Nørskov Manor
The upstream sluice at Ry Mølle (Rodelundvej in Ry, towards Mossø):
Fishing only permitted from sunrise (6.00 am) to sunset.
Downstream sluice: Fishing is permitted all day and night,
but only from a boat during the night (from sunset to 6.00 am).
Landing is strictly prohibited during the night.
Access to private areas adjacent to lakes and rivers is not permitted.
Boats are not permitted to moor or land in private areas.

Any eels caught upstream from Ry Mølle, Ry Møllesø and Gudensø must be immediately released again, irrespective of whether they will be able to survive.

The lighting of fires is strictly prohibited adjacent to all club waters at Ry Nørskov, and will result in immediate confiscation of the offender’s fishing card, an order to leave the area, exclusion from the club, and reporting to the police. Only fish species covered by the Danish Freshwater Fishing Act may be fished. All fishing in club waters in Julsø must take place from a boat, but is also permitted from the bank at Rye Nørskov (at the eastern end of Julsø).

The rules governing access to the forest at Ry Nørskov must be observed (access to the forest is only permitted from sunrise am to sunset).

A maximum of three pike-perch and three trout or salmon may be caught per day.

N.B. Everyone aged between 18-65 who fishes must have a valid fishing licence.

Kolpring :A special fishing rod is used for 'kolpning'. In Jutland this is called a 'kolpetøj'. The rod is short and slightly upturned, and has a handle and two pins facing upwards, and a fixed line. It is used for jigging, and particularly suited to ice fishing for perch.

Dipping: hook and sinker with live bait, particularly used for pike fishing.
